Social Skills Training
BSP offers a state-of-the-art Social Skills program. Children learn to interact effectively with others in a fun and playful environment. Based on an assessment of your child’s social skills, an individualized program is developed to address his/her needs. Social skills groups conducted by our ABA staff are small and provide intensive support. Children are grouped according to age and ability levels. Children from three years of age up to young adults are welcome.
The following skill areas are addressed:
- Joint attention
- Perspective taking
- Initiating and responding to peers
- Gaining attention
- Turn-taking
- Managing social conflict
- Socially appropriate calming strategies
Siblings and friends are invited to attend our Social Skills group. BSP also encourages parents to participate in the concurrent training program on how to teach social skills to their children.
